KDC foundation (KDCF) is a Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) of Community Based Type. Its flagship project the Community Library Project is focused on developing and deploying high impact and sustainable advocacy and almajiri support programs in collaboration with stakeholders to stop child begging and remodel the Almajiri education system in Northern Nigeria. It supports the stock of almajiris in the cities through facilitating basic literacy, numeracy and personal hygiene classes in Tsangaya School clusters in Collaboration with National Social Investment Programs (N-SIP) Office, who deploy N-Power beneficiaries as voluntary tutors to KDCF for posting to teach in selected Tsangaya Clusters within their communities. This model has been adopted and replicated by sister platforms such as the BUK ’89 forum, philanthropists such as Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, and the Kano State Government; in partnership with KDC Foundation.
This is achieved through collaboration with Kano Emirate Councils, Kano State Qur’anic and Islamiyya Schools Management Board (KSQISMB), Kano Hisbah Board, Kano Forum of Qur’anic School Teachers and N-SIP; with funding from the U.S Embassy and KDC Foundation. .
